What’s better than a day at the track? A day at the official test track of Grassroots Motorsports: The Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park.
We hosted our second annual Grassroots Motorsports Track Day at the FIRM on Monday, April 8. Why Monday? Because it was the day after our $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack–and because it was our goal to keep this a small, intimate affair, something easy to do on a weekday.

And indeed, each of the dozen or so cars in attendance got more track time than they could even use, exploring our favorite local track and checking out each others’ builds in the process. Those in attendance were even treated to a free hot lunch cooked by our very own Publisher Emeritus Tim Suddard.
Much of the Grassroots Motorsports editorial staff was in attendance, too, with our V6 Miata, Mustang, GTI, Cayman and BMW 435i project cars on display and on track. (Not to mention our F-150 Lightning powering the grill).

Honestly 50% of my FOMO from missing the challenge this year was not doing the Trackday. Assuming this still happens day after the challenge I really want to bring the sorted LMP360 down to see what it can really do on the FIRM.

Glad I was able to be at the Challenge Track day this year. It was tons of fun getting to take the GTI on track and we have a track review video coming soon on one of the other cars that were there. If you want to see it make sure you subscribe to the GRM YouTube channel.
